The Clinic

The Alison Rostron Treatment Centre was established in 1985. It is a friendly clinic with a highly qualified team of experienced therapists, specialising in treatments using Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD). In addition to the treatment of lymphoedema, lipoedema and other conditions which benefit from MLD massage, the clinic also offers a range of complementary therapies including sports and remedial massage, aromatherapy, Indian head massage and reflexology.

The clinic welcomes both self-funded and insured patients (It is a listed provider for BUPA, Aviva, Vitality and WPA). For those patients who are unable to access the clinic, we are able to offer mobile treatment whether at home or in a care home setting.

We look forward to welcoming you soon and are available to answer any questions you may have. Our Administrator, Hazel Blyth, will be pleased to help you initially.

Alison Rostron

Alison Rostron has been practising as a therapist since 1984 and in 2001 she qualified as a practitioner in Dr Vodder Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD). She now specialises in the treatment of lymphoedema, lipoedema and other conditions which benefit from MLD and she is passionate about her work in this area. She has treated many patients over the years, working closely with the medical profession who refer patients to her regularly.

Alison returns to Austria regularly to update her techniques which are used to alleviate lymphoedema, a condition in which excess fluid causes swelling in the tissues, and lipoedema, a condition of the fat cells. She treats many patients who have developed lymphoedema as a result of breast cancer surgery and is qualified to use scar release techniques which relieve tightness and discomfort post-surgery.

Alison has a keen interest in sport. She is a former fitness instructor and keeps herself fit through yoga, pilates and long-distance running. She has completed 7 London Marathons. She is also involved with local charities and in 2015 climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, raising money for Keeping Abreast, a local breast cancer charity.
